Varicose Vein Treatment ELVeS (Endovascular Laser Vein System)
ELVeS is an alternative varicose vein treatment that uses laser light energy, administered intravenously, that causes vein walls to shrink.
This results in complete closure, thus eliminating the appearance of varicose veins in your ankles, thighs or calves.
The ELVeS treatment is becoming increasingly popular because the results have been proven to last longer than other treatment methods. Schedule an appointment with a board-certified Summit Plastic Surgery physician to learn which varicose/spider vein treatment is right for you.
Spider Vein Treatment (Sclerotherapy)
Spider veins are the small areas of blue, purple, or red veins that you may have on your ankles, thighs or calves.
As a general rule, spider veins appear in a branchlike, spiderlike pattern. The method we use at Summit Plastic Surgery consists of a series of injections, which causes the veins to safely collapse and eventually fade.
Every person has a different response to the injections and the number of treatments needed. Occasionally, we have a patient who needs laser treatments on the spider veins. Most patients improve with spider vein treatments. There is no down time with these treatments.
People get spider veins for a number of reasons, including: occupations that require extended periods of time standing on your feet, pregnancy, heredity, and weight shifts.
Body Lifts after Major Weight Loss
Body contouring after major weight loss reduces the excess skin and fat that is left behind after a major weight loss.
This sagging skin commonly develops around the face, neck, upper arms, breast, abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. If you have lost a significant amount of weight either through diet and exercise or bariatric surgery, and you are at your optimum weight loss goal, you may be a good candidate for this procedure.
Depending on individual patient factors and the extent of surgery needed, multiple operations performed in stages may be required. In such cases, the waiting period between surgeries ranges from weeks to several months or longer.
Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck tightens the abdominal muscles and/or removes excess tissue and sagging skin from the abdomen.
Many women opt for this procedure after they have children and their skin has been overstretched. Another reason patients have a tummy tuck is because of a significant weight loss (excess tissue will still be present). Summit Plastic Surgery Fort Wayne offers different options for tummy tucks depending on how much excess tissue that you may need removed.
Tummy tucks may last 2-5 hours depending on which procedure you have performed.

Liposuction
This procedure involves the removal of fat cells from different areas of the body, which may include the chin, neck, abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, buttocks, upper arms, and knees. Liposuction (Lipo) removes fat cells not cellulite (the “cottage cheese” bumps).
Lipo may be used for select candidates for breast reduction or male breast enlargement (gynecomastia). Summit Plastic Surgery Fort Wayne uses the tumescent method of liposuction, which is the preferred option with little blood loss, less bruising, and less discomfort.
Not all of the fat is removed, so some of the fat could return to that area or another area. Not everyone is a candidate for liposuction. Discuss with your Summit Plastic Surgery surgeon which procedure may benefit you. Liposuction is not a substitute for exercising or a cure for overeating.
Liposuction may last 1-3 hours depending on how many areas are being treated.
