Kevin L. Berning, MD

Summit Plastic Surgery, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Dr. Berning is Board-Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He  practiced as a general surgeon at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Subsequently, he completed his residency in plastic surgery at Butterworth and Blodgett Hospitals, both in Grand Rapids. He received advanced training in and Microvascular Surgery at the Buncke Clinic in San Francisco. He also received specialized training in the fields of microsurgical and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Berning has been published in numerous publications, including the Michigan Academy of Plastic Surgeons and Chicago Medicine. Dr. Berning currently serves as Co-Director of the St. Joseph's Hospital Regional Burn Center and as Wound Care Program Director at Select Specialty Hospital. He also serves on the board of the Northeast Indiana Burn Council.
